The Story
Behind the Art

My journey with art began in my mid-teens, and for a few years, I was fully immersed in painting, exhibiting, and working on commissions. But then, my passion for theatre took over, and for more than two decades, I dedicated myself to teaching, directing, and producing theatre. While my artistic side never truly disappeared, I used it for stage sets and costume design, it never made its way back onto a canvas.
In 2024, I returned to painting, hoping it would bring me some peace amidst the chaos. And boy, did it! I became completely immersed, telling my stories through color and texture. Before I knew it, my home was overflowing with paintings, quite literally a hazard. So, on a whim, I reached out to a gallery, not expecting much. Well, the rest is history (not too far back, though!).
As a young artist, I explored everything landscapes, figures, still life, wildlife, but I can’t say I loved it all. This time around, I found my true artistic passion. Looking back at my old work, I realize that expressionism was always in me, waiting to be embraced. Now, I paint landscapes and seascapes in oils and acrylics, pouring emotions into each piece.
I’m a sucker for love stories; stories of the heart that echo longing, love, pain, joy, and connection. Each painting starts with a simple idea, and music is always there to guide my heart in the right direction. As a theatre buff, a bit of theatrics inevitably sneaks in, whether it’s in the art itself or in the stories that lie behind it.
Beyond painting, I’m a mom to twin girls, a drama teacher, and I still take on theatrical productions from time to time. But right now, I’m fully enjoying this journey as an artist; experimenting, evolving, and seeing where it takes me.
